Has anyone else been eating deli meat while pregnant? I just want a regular sandwich, but I am nervous to eat deli meat if it's recommended not to. Thoughts, insight, recommendations??

I had ham rolled up yesterday and I’m currently eating salami sandwich. This is my 5th babe in 8 hrs. I’ve never had an issue. Just don’t use old meat or prepackaged meat. Go straight to the deli counter and use it up within 2 days

yes DELI MEAT IS SAFE! do you know anyone or have heard of deli meat being recalled anytime in the last 20 years? No! lol just use common sense!

the guidelines are super outdated, people in other countries eat sushi, I personally drink raw milk and raw dairy.

Your safest option would be to buy the pre-packaged deli meat (like Hormel, etc) rather than the freshly sliced at the deli counter. The risk from deli meat is listeria which wouldn’t be a concern with the pre-packaged deli meat since its heat processed post-packaging. The risk with deli counters is that listeria thrives in wet, cold environments and it’s just easy to spread via utensils, workers, meat slicer, etc.
