Job Summary And QualificationsAs the Scheduling Coordinator, you will act as the principle coordinator of communication with physicians, their offices, and hospital staff. You will schedule cases for the Surgical Services department to meet physician needs and ensure efficient progression of scheduled cases. You will also perform other clerical duties as assigned.

• You will schedule and coordinate the operative and endoscopy schedules
• You will ensure appropriate resources are available for scheduled procedures and ensure correct procedure selection
• You will audit physician suspended list and verify physician privileges
• You will obtain patient demographic data, including diagnosis, insurance, and surgical group
• You will answer phones, route calls and take messages
• You will participate in auditing information for accuracy
• You will fax or deliver any orders, labs, etc. to ancillary departments
• You will participate in inventory control and supply upkeep

ExperienceWhat qualifications you will need:

• Proficiency with computers and medical terminology
• Previous experience with surgical scheduling - preferred

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent
