The Neon Museum offers a wealth of history and education through signage in addition to a curated selection of fun and enriching activities and events specifically geared towards kids.

Whether you’re looking for family friendly activities in Las Vegas or already planning a visit, we’ve put together some tips to make the most of your experience.

1. Get to Know the Different Experiences

At the Neon Museum, there are different ticket types so visitors can choose the type of experience they want.

There are self-guided tours, where you have the opportunity to walk around and enjoy the collection of signs at your own leisure, which might be good for families visiting with kids who prefer to wander on their own. Self-guided tours take place during the day (before 5pm) or the evening (until 10pm). The Neon Museum is beautiful day or night! The flexibility of admission times makes it easy to visit with kids of all ages.

In addition to the self-guided tours, there are also guided tours and you can book the Neon Museum for Photo Walks or Portrait Hours if you want to get professional family photos.

In addition to the regular events, the Neon Museum also hosts STEAM Saturdays, a program that offers fun make-and-take activities, hands-on-learning, and demonstrations for children.

2. Try Brilliant! Jackpot, an Immersive Show for All Ages

In addition to exploring the museum, kids will also enjoy Brilliant! Jackpot, a magical audiovisual immersion experience that reanimates 40 monumental examples of The Neon Museum’s iconic vintage signs and transports visitors into the history of Las Vegas through sight and sound. With 24 3D-sound speakers and eight projectors to create a 360 degree experience, visitors of all ages will love this immersive show.

3. Don’t Underestimate The Neon Museum’s Popularity

As one of the best kid-friendly things to do in Las Vegas, not to mention a highly popular photography spot, it should be no surprise that the Neon Museum can be very busy. Tickets can sell out quickly, and even more so if there’s some sort of event or special tour on, which there often is. Because of this, we suggest planning your trip in advance. You can purchase tickets for the day and time that works for your family well in advance.

4. Take the Rules Seriously

The team at the Neon Museum is very dedicated to preserving an important part of old-school Vegas, not to mention the safety of the visitors. Because of this, there are some rules that you and your family will have to follow.

Take the time to read the rules on the website about what to wear, how to pay, and whether or not you can take photos. Here are some quick things to keep in mind when visiting the museum with kids:

  • The Neon Museum is a cashless venue. Guests can use valid debit or credit cards, or mobile wallets including Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.
  • Personal-use photos are encouraged on cell phones and tablets only. All other cameras, props, outfit-changes, external photo equipment including tripods, lighting, gimbals, selfie sticks, microphones, etc. are prohibited during regular visits.

  • Free parking for guests is located next to The Neon Museum on McWilliams Ave.
